Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed strikes throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a significant and continuing attack targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity close to the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any damage is not yet known and the US has yet to issue a statement.

Airspace Engagements

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - stated they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their airspace.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

IRGC Statement

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was targeting US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the offensive on the Islamic Republic launched by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That US-Israeli operation - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted locations linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump urging the Iranian people to revolt against the leadership.

Additional Developments

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the UAE stated that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems engaged the missiles with high efficiency and destroyed a several projectiles," the statement continued.

Officials reported missile fragments fell on a neighborhood in the capital, resulting in some property damage and fatalities.

The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
