LA Explodes in Celebration as Los Angeles Dodgers Secure Back-to-Back World Series Victory
The City of Angels witnessed widespread celebrations after the Los Angeles Dodgers won a thrilling seven-game World Series title. Supporters across the globe joined Angelenos in celebration, marking the initial time in 25 years that a franchise has secured back-to-back championships.
Celebration Parade Draws Enormous Crowds
Los Angeles area celebrations featured a procession through the city center on Monday morning, a ticketed rally at the team's home stadium, and impromptu gatherings throughout the city.
Online footage show thousands of Los Angeles residents packing city center avenues, many displaying handmade banners and team flags. The squad was seen traveling proudly on a open-top bus through the masses, hoisting the Commissioner’s trophy proudly.
“My focus is already about the third time we’re going to achieve this,” Shohei Ohtani remarked through an translator.
The parade route concluded at the stadium, where the players walked out to the rapper’s “Not Like Us,” with DJ Mustard spinning music and the artist cruising a Pacific blue classic car around the field.
Early Celebrations and Player Reactions
Festivities started prior to the parade, with supporters setting off flares in the roads of the city center on the previous evening.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto, named the MVP of the championship, spoke directly about the victory.
“We refuse to lose,” he stated. “I adore this team. I love Los Angeles.”
Varied Responses and City Unity
However, the team owner received a cooler welcome at the rally. Video footage from the event appear to show Walter walking onstage to a mix of cheers and boos, with negative shouts punctuating his speech.
The championship served as a bright spot in what has been a challenging year for Los Angeles. An estimated 225,000 people attended to the championship parade last year, and according to Dodgers player one athlete, supporters this year showed as much if not more support.
“I feel like it’s almost double from last year,” Freeman said. “The supporters are incredible. It’s truly amazing to be a part of this.”
