Soccer Expert Sutton Battles Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts
The Gunners' ten-match winning streak was ended by Sunderland prior to the international break, however will the English top division leaders bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?
"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.
"Frank will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."
Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against AI, fans and a variety of special visitors.
For the twelfth round, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.
The singer's latest album, Knees Up, is out on Friday.
Football and Family Experiences
Murs is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not intending a serious comeback as a footballer.
"{I actually played in a benefit match the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "The team was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!
"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.
"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."
Murs and his spouse his partner have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.
"I won't push football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their weekend football side," he said.
"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly was involved with a soccer team for a while too.
"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He coached our side for several seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Premier League Forecasts

- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their attack is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.
In my opinion this fixture will be fairly tight, however. Burnley are well organised and their only home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.
This suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.
The expert's prediction: 1-2
Olly's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3
AI's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple matches - although both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.
In contrast, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look strong again.
West Ham's only away victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno was previously Forest coach.
So, what on earth do I go with here - can the Hammers extending their run under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?
I am going to choose the Cherries, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a blip.
Sutton's forecast: 2-0
Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2
AI's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the season began, but they have impressed a several people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their past four matches.
A family member told me to select Bees forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.
Thiago will likely score again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support the away side at Amex Stadium.
They have not had much success on the travel this term, and the Seagulls are always strong at their stadium. The visitors will attempt to hit them on the break but I think the home manager's side pose much more of a danger.
Sutton's forecast: 2-1
Olly's view: This could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many goals but it in reality turns out to be rather close. 1-1
The computer's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six matches.
They have got plenty of talent in their squad but it still feels like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.
As for Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.
Their performance in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not seen anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.
The logical choice would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the end of last month.
But I am not do that. Instead, I really need to continue opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.
Looking at Fulham's home form, the sole team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's side will be absolutely desperate for a good result, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.
The expert's forecast: 1-0
Olly's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that Fulham are on a poor streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at home this campaign. 2-0
The algorithm's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a tough one to call. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 games in all competitions, but could they be among the teams who benefit from the {international break|
